New Cricket Manager Appointed

The Boys’ Town Cricket Committee has recently appointed a new cricket manager to oversee cricket operations at the Trench Town based sports club. In a meeting earlier this year, chairman of the cricket committee and former Jamaica Cricket Association boss Lyndel ‘Muddy’ Wright, announced the appointment of Mr. Renardo Brown as the new head of cricket operations at the club.
“I believe this is a move in the right direction for us not only for cricket but for the institution of Boys’ Town” Mr. Wright stated in his address to committee members in a meeting held earlier this year. “Mr. Brown is young and had the right attitude, enthusiasm and vision that is needed for growth and sustainability of our cricket program here at the club” Mr. Wright added.
Mr. Brown has recently completed his Bachelor Degree is Sports Management at the Caribbean School of Sports Sciences, located at the University of Technology, and is elated about the appointment. In an interview with our reporters Mr. Brown states, “I have been a player here at Boys’ Town since 2010; I have also had the privilege of serving in the capacity of captain for the senior cricket team. Therefore I think it’s only natural for me to give back to the club, who has given me so much in the past few years.”
The young 23 year old Brown has taken over as cricket boss from the long serving Mr. Asherman Forbes, and even though he has a lot of work to do in reestablishing Boys’ Town as a force in cricket, he is optimistic about his chances. “I relish this challende, and I do believe I have a team of persons who are committed to lifting us from a bad patch. I am really confident that with hard work and determination we can achieve anything w e put our minds to” the more than excited manager told us.
