The 2015 Jamaica Cricket Association Senior cup had its last set of preliminary matches over this weekend, Boys Town defeated Kingston and St. Andrew cricket association at Maxfield Park to close off their season in style.
This has been a turnaround season for the Boys’ Town cricket team, this as after going 5 years without winning a match at home they achieved that feat this season when they defeated Police CC earlier in the compettiton; coupled with this win the team therefore won 2 matches in a season for the first in a number of years.
The points table have also been affected by our performance this season, 2 years ago we were 6th in our group, last year we aere 5th as we overtook Lucas CC, this year we have moved to 4th; if we are consistent and continue improving we expect to be competitng with the big teams in a year or two. In any case as we gear towards the start of our 75th anniversary celebrations, the health of our cricket program is at its best in a number of years, with a clear vision and development programs in place.
Coming up the team will be participating in the Symptai/Boys’ Town community T20 competition, we will also be entering the JCA Minor cup competition as well as the All Island Limited Overs Competition.
